Best 30 Quart Pressure Cooker 2026: Large Pressure Cookers and Canners
The best true 30-quart pressure cooker is the All American 930, a made-in-USA cast aluminum pressure cooker and canner. It has no gasket to replace, holds 14 quart jars, and lists at $549.95.
Most home cooks and canners do just as well with a 23-quart Presto canner, which holds 7 quart jars, costs about $186 and has a 12-year warranty. Choose the Presto 01784 if you cook on induction.
- Pressure cookers this large are really pressure canners that can also cook food.
- The All American 930 runs at 5, 10 or 15 psi and works on gas and electric stoves, not induction.
- A 30-quart canner is heavy: the All American 930 weighs about 25 lb empty.
- Check your stove: Presto says its 23-quart canners are made for burners of 12,000 BTU or less.
- For safe home canning, follow tested recipes from your canner’s manual or the NCHFP.

Do you need a 30-quart pressure cooker?
Probably not for everyday cooking. A 30-quart pot is far bigger than a family meal needs, and pressure cookers should not be filled more than two-thirds full. These large units are designed mainly for canning.
For cooking, a 6 to 8-quart pressure cooker is the right size for most families. For canning, a 23-quart canner covers most home needs; choose 30 quarts if you often process two layers of pint jars or many quart jars.
Can you can in any large pressure cooker?
No. The National Center for Home Food Preservation advises using a canner that holds at least four quart jars standing upright, and following a tested process. Our guide to using a pressure cooker as a canner explains why.
